Claude-Olivier Doron’s editorial apparatus to the volume of Foucault’s lectures he edited (translated by Graham Burchell as Sexuality: The 1964 Clermont-Ferrand and 1969 Vincennes Lectures) is very useful, but there is an issue, in that what Doron means by “chemise” (usually translated by Burchell as simply “C.”) appears to differ from the meaning used by the team behind the Foucault fiches de lecture project, which has digitised a large amount of Foucault’s notes. As such, the references Doron provides can easily be misinterpreted. In what follows I have attempted to convert as many of Doron’s references into the Ffl team’s system as I can. What I’ve written could really use some editing, but hopefully its rough state won’t prevent it from being useful.

Box 39 chemise 2:
He says (p. 22, note 22) box 39 chemise 2 holds information on Roman marriage law, but this is incorrect; the text cited is referenced, however, once in box 39 chemise 22, once in box 39 chemise 23, once in box 39 loose (feuillet 385), once in box 2 chemise 4 (probably Foucault moved it as he needed; this can be dismissed), and five times in box 39 chemise 24.
He says (pp. 198-199, note 7) that box 39 chemise 2 has a dossier on ‘La législation du mariage chrétien’ which is actually the title of box 39 chemise 24, and (p. 199, note 12) that it has a feuillet ‘canon law encourages marriage’, which is in box 39 chemise 24.
He says (p. 205, note 35) that box 39 chemise 2 has dossiers 10 and 11 on ‘The Revolution and marriage’ and ‘Marriage and the Civil Code’. The former is the title of box 39 chemise 22. The latter is the title of box 39 chemise 24.
He says (pp. 202-203, note 28) that box 39 chemise 2 has a series of dossiers on legislation about sexual acts and debates on incest, polygamy, sodomy, in 1600s and 1700s; this accurately describes the contents of box 39 chemises 22, 23, and 24. He says (p. 203, note 29) that it refers to a text by Julien Bonnecase; this text is referenced four times in the online archive (according to its metadata, which is incomplete), three times in box 39 chemise 22, once in box 39 chemise 23. He also cites (p. 203, note 31) a BNF file named ‘Le feminisme sous la revolution’ without specifying where it is; it is in box 39 chemise 22.
He says (p. 156, note 13) that box 39 chemise 2 contains folders on Freud’s early texts and Freud’s theory of sexuality. The first is an accurate description of box 39 chemise 1, the second of box 39 chemise 2.
He says (p. 166, note 3) that box 39 chemise 2 feuillet 3 is ‘Mouvement de population et régulation des naissances sous l’Ancien Régime’, which is actually in box 39 chemise 18.
.
Thus, of the times I have been able to identify, his references to box 39 chemise 2 should be taken to refer to box 39 chemises 1, 2, 18, 22, 23, and 24.

Some miscellaneous references:
He says (p. 156, note 12) that box 45 chemise 2 has notes on Schopenhauer and Naturphilosophie (Lorenz Oken). The latter are in box 36 chemise 26. The only relevant mention of Schopenhauer I have been able to find is in box 39 chemise 29.
He says (see p. 78, note 46) that the Lille course on signal, code, message, and information is in box 42b, chemise 2, but that’s online and there’s no sign of it. There are a series of notes on cybernetics in box 42b chemise 4.
He says (p. 321, note 48) that Foucault’s notes on the Kunz text ‘Idee, Wesen und Wirklichkeit des Menschen’ are in box 42b chemise 1, but they’re actually in chemise 2.
He says (p. 21, note 15) that box 45 chemise 2 has a dossier titled ‘Comte. La femme’, but this is incorrect; the phrase is, however, the title of box 39 chemise 19.
